[mdphd] Thank you

Dear Colleagues,

I have resigned as director of the MD/PhD program. This was a very difficult decision since I have been at Upstate since before many of you were born. My intention was to continue in this role for the next few decades, but life circumstances have gotten in the way. It has been a joy to get to know you and to work with you through the highs and lows of your training.

During my tenure as MD/PhD Director I have had incredible support from Drs. Dewan, Chin, and Schmitt who have helped me implement innovations and growth in the program. They will continue to support your education over the coming years.

Thank you for partnering with me over the last five years in making this program strong. Also, my family and I thank you for your incredible support over the last few months. I felt bolstered when you reached out with a simple text, email, or phone call.

Although I have been on a temporary leave I was removed from the MD/PhD mailing list some time ago, so I have not received any newsletters or program updates over the last few months. If I missed any of your major life events or professional successes, I’m sorry.

I wish you great joy and productivity in your personal and professional lives and hope that our paths cross again soon.
