Dear Upstate NCOM Medical Students,

We're excited to invite you to apply for the Distinguishing Docs! Program, a Student Affairs Retention and Support initiative made possible by a grant from the Associated Medical Schools of New York (AMSNY). Thanks to this renewed funding, we're thrilled to continue this wonderful program for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Distinguishing Docs! is designed to enhance your medical education, strengthen your academic foundation, and elevate your professional profile as you prepare for residency. This "next level" program offers tailored support and enrichment opportunities in three core areas:

  1. Academic Excellence: Strengthen and accelerate your academic performance.
  2. Academic Support & Remediation: Receive personalized support if you're navigating academic challenges or pursuing a decelerated curricular path.
  3. Professional Development & Research: Gain valuable experience in research, leadership, and career development to help you stand out on residency applications.

We aim to enroll 80 students total, 20 from each NCOM class year.

Key Dates:

  * Application Deadline: Friday, October 3, 2025, by 12:00 PM (Noon)
  * Acceptance Notifications Sent: Tuesday, October 8, 2025
  * Enrollment Paperwork Due: Wednesday, October 15, 2025

If you're ready to take your medical journey to the next level, we strongly encourage you to apply here<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://forms.gle/CAmQRqdJhaoY1Mnn9__;!!GobTDDpD7A!K00sYdtkoQ-tdDfVrdk-GxE67m7BltExwv9S3OzoDnqjv5olpSC9Ni2HGkKyv95Ioq2Nj7px07GVggVXfXkuSioMLoc$ >. Please note that this program is funded by a grant, which requires strict adherence to deadlines and paperwork submission to maintain our eligibility.

Best,
Sharon Huard & Steven Contreras
