Drs. Young and Mahonski
For Case Conference, we will discuss the following three cases. Come with ideas to discuss:

  1. A 29-year-old female presents to the emergency department with a swollen pulseless leg. She is found to have an INR of >9 and denies taking any blood thinners.
  2. A 76 year old female is admitted to the hospital for intractable abdominal pain. While admitted, she receives her home medications after which she develops drooling and vomiting. Her heart rate is 60 beats/min.
  3. A 25-year-old female presents to the ED with difficulty urinating and blurry vision. Her heart rate is 115 beats per minute, and she requires a foley catheter due to acute urinary retention.

For Journal Club this week, we will be reading the following two articles. Please assign one rotator to present each article amongst yourselves, but you should all read the articles and be prepared to discuss as a group.
