Cases for Discussion

Case 1: Pt is a 34 yo F with a hx of depression who presented 3.5 hrs after ingesting 25 tabs of a xenobiotic she bought online. She is tachycardic at 160, tachypneic at 24, febrile at 100.4oF, and is diaphoretic and agitated.
Case 2: 2 workers at a leather factory collapse. A third worker drags them out but collapses in the doorway as well. 2 of the 3 workers wake up outside, the third is intubated.
Case 3: A 37 yo groundskeeper presents after drinking from a bottle at work. he is agitated, and is intubated for airway protection. Overnight, he develops hyperthermia, hypotension, and a lactic acidosis. The family arrives the next day with the bottle.
