[EXTERNAL] Campus Faculty and Staff Weekly Testing Requirement

Dear campus faculty and staff,

SUNY Chancellor Malatras has informed all SUNY campuses that we must perform weekly COVID surveillance testing for all students, faculty and staff who are physically on campus starting the week of February 1. You are receiving this email because your work location is in a campus building and thus you are among those required to undergo weekly testing.  This weekly testing will begin the week of February 8.

We have been performing voluntary surveillance testing for over two months on campus and many of you have taken advantage of that opportunity. Our testing process uses painless, self-collected saliva samples that are tested in pools. Testing is scheduled for every day from Monday through Thursday at a variety of locations across campus. You will be notified within 24-36 hours of the results of your pooled test, and if the pooled test is positive, you will be notified of your individual test within the next 24-36 hours.

You must register to be tested for each week you are on campus. Please follow instructions about not eating, brushing teeth, etc. prior to testing.
Please note that Upstate is working to expand the availability of testing and additional information will be provided in the near future.

If you do not come to campus you need not be tested. If you have previously tested positive for COVID 19, you need not participate in this surveillance testing for 90 days after your last positive test.
