[unyoc-planning] Program suggestion

HI Everyone,
I’m sort of with Nell on this one. If someone wants to resubmit and be evaluated against the other submissions that’s one thing, but to automatically get to present at our meeting seems unfair, especially since we have such a short time together.

Hi,
This may be an unpopular statement, but I do not agree with this approach. For one thing, if a poster or paper has already been presented somewhere else, there may be ethical considerations to consider. In addition, as a regular MLA attendee, I would like to see new content at the UNYOC Annual Meeting.
Would you be offering reduced registration to someone that is recycling an old poster or talk?
Nell

Hi,
A great idea has been brought to my attention from Jean Jenkins. She made the following suggestion:
"Since many of us did not go to MLA, it would be great to hear/see papers or posters that were at MLA. Any presentations or posters from MLA would be welcome at UNYOC."
I think it is a great idea, so when the next call goes out perhaps we could include a statement similar to the one above?
Regards,
Mary Jo
