Hello again!

Thank you, Sarah L., Sarah H., and Michael, for your thoughtful feedback. I have decided to remove any mention of moderators from this form.
You all made valid points about how trying to fill this role using only one form might confuse the issue. I think we can recruit a moderator separately, depending on how much interest there is for panelists.

Regarding the other feedback, I have clarified that the panel discussion will “take place during morning programming on Friday, October 25, 2024.” I don’t want to stipulate a time at this point because I don’t have even a rough draft of a program yet. I also changed the wording to “Panelists are eligible for the $50 discount on registration that is available for conference presenters.”

When I asked Darcey for feedback, she suggested that I be more specific about the length of uninterrupted speaking time. The current wording is
The format will include uninterrupted speaking time for each panelist, for about the same length as a lightning talk.

So far I have assumed that fewer panelists translates into more talking time; i.e., 3 panelists can talk for up to 10 minutes whereas 5 panelists could only speak for 5 minutes.
Is this a reasonable assumption? Or should panelists only get 5 minutes regardless of how many of them there are?

Thank you for your continued support! I really appreciate your advice.

Best,
Lorraine

Hi Lorraine,
The form looks good to me.
My question is - about the moderator, will they be expected to also submit talking points?
It doesn't quite seem that way, but the order of the questions, where proposed panelists provide (talking) points, followed by the moderator yes / no made me wonder. Maybe it would be useful to clarify this?

Sarah

Good afternoon, Planning Committee friends,

As we discussed, I created a new form to use for soliciting participation in the UNYOC panel discussion.
Can you please proofread it for me and provide any suggestions for edits?

I apologize for the tight turnaround on this, but I hope to post the call for participation today.
I can delay until tomorrow if there’s significant issues with the form.

Thank you, in advance!

Best,
Lorraine
