[LabUpdates] Laboratory Formulary Committee Updates - HIT testing change

Medicine and laboratory testing are constantly changing.  The Laboratory Formulary Committee regularly sends out emails with new updates and changes.



Change to HIT testing:  Starting September 8th 2026, samples sent for Heparin-Induced Platelet IgG Antibody (HIT) testing (LAB766) will be sent to a reference laboratory.  Unfortunately, the manufacturer of the reagents used for this testing in-house have notified SUNY Upstate that the current batch of reagent cannot be used for testing.  Please see the attached guidance for further details.
