Nursing Research Month – June 2026
Celebrating Innovation, Inquiry, and Excellence in Nursing

Join us throughout the month of June as we spotlight the incredible work of nurses in advancing evidence-based practice and research.

Librarian Clinical Unit Rounding
Research & Innovation Committee members & Outreach Librarians will be rounding on clinical units — ready to assist with research questions, library resources, and evidence-based practice support.

  *   June 9th 1000-1200 Downtown Inpatient Units
  *   June 16th 1300-1500 Golisano’s Children’s Hospital Inpatient Units
  *   June 23rd 1300-1500 Community Campus Inpatient Units
  *   June 25th 0900-1400 Ambulatory Clinics (UHCC, 550 Harrison, Nappi).

Posters will be Displayed – Week of June 1st-5th; . Locations : Downtown 1st floor lobby and 2nd floor across from main elevators, next to cafeteria, Community Campus Cafeteria & Nappi 1st floor lobby. Explore posters showcasing current nursing research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement initiatives.

Center for Nursing Research Journal Club is June 3rd

The Center for Nursing Research Journal Club will be held June 3rd at 11:30-12:20 via Teams. The club meeting will feature an article by Sunny G. Hallowell PhD, APRN, PPCNP-BC and Robin Cogan, MEd, RN, NCSN, FNASN, FAAN published in the Online Journal of Issues in Nursing. Article title: Nursing’s Role in Firearm Violence Prevention. The purpose of this study is to provide nurses with fundamental knowledge related to strategic models that may help engage communities in meaningful, sustainable change to improve firearm safety and prevent firearm violence across the country.  All are welcome!

We are excited to share that the Nurse Residency Program (NRP) has achieved Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP) Reaccreditation with Distinction through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), an accomplishment that reflects the extraordinary collaboration, commitment, and support across our entire organization. This achievement belongs to all of us. It is a testament to the shared investment in supporting new-to-practice nurses and the strength of the partnerships that make the Nurse Residency Program successful. From current nurse residents and NRP graduates, to facilitators,  subject matter experts, nurse leaders, and colleagues across departments, each of you has contributed to building and sustaining a program recognized for excellence. We are deeply appreciative of the mentorship, innovation, engagement, and teamwork that made this recognition possible. To celebrate this milestone and express our gratitude, we invite you to join us in recognizing our PTAP Reaccreditation with Distinction and honoring the collective efforts across our organization that made this achievement possible.

When: Wednesday, June 10, 1:00–3:00 PM
Where: Downtown Campus – Kinney Performance Center 11th floor
During this event, we will:
• Celebrate this shared achievement
• Recognize and thank those who contribute to the success of the Nurse Residency Program
• Reflect on the impact of our collaborative work in supporting nurse development and professional practice
Please join us for cupcakes, and a coffee and candy bar, along with a slideshow and time to celebrate together. We are incredibly proud of what we have accomplished as an organization and grateful for the collaboration that continues to strengthen the Nurse Residency Program. We hope you will join us as we celebrate this milestone and the people who made it possible!
