[epicproviders] Follow-Up: Insulin Orders at Discharge and AVS Workflow Changes – Adult Patients Only

This is a follow-up to the recent communication regarding the Go Live on Monday, August 25, 2025, for updates to the Insulin Orders at Discharge and Insulin Instructions on the AVS workflow.
Please note that these workflow changes apply exclusively to ADULT patients. Pediatric workflows remain unchanged at this time.

Inpatient Providers for Adult Patients

Very Important details regarding Insulin Orders for Adults at Discharge and Insulin Instructions on the AVS.

Effective Monday August 25, 2025: Changes have been made to eliminate challenges to update insulin orders at discharge for adults and improve clarity of insulin instructions on the AVS. Now, Insulin instructions are added to the AVS using a new order, no longer a note at discharge.
Additionally, the Insulin Instructions – All Notes SmartText has been updated to include options for home sliding scale and pump management.

There are many possible scenarios for insulin ordering and adding AVS insulin instructions workflow.
